Support Programs

Diggers Rest Primary School acknowledges student achievement and citizenship through Pupil of the Week awards, House Captains, Junior School Council, Junior School Leaders, displays of student work, newsletter articles, Social Media and School Sport representation.

To actively support the curriculum, a number of enrichment programs are provided including: Junior School Council, weekly school assemblies, House Sport, Perceptual Motor Program, Sports clinics, Choir, Peer Support, Swimming, Transition, Lunchtime Clubs and School Improvement Team and Enrichment/Extension groups which are conducted by teachers, parents, and community members.

As well as the classroom program, grade excursions and visiting performers to the school provide an important feature of classroom programs. They complement areas of study, and provide children with a rich base for understanding.

Community activities such as Carols in the Courtyard, Grandparents Day, Night School and dress up days create a strong sense of community and a positive tone within the school.

The school believes that in order to best equip our students for the challenges of the 21st century, Information Technology remains integral to the delivery of quality programs across all learning areas. Students in years 3-6 have access to a 1:1 iPad program with children in younger years accessing classroom banks. The focus on the use of technology is around supporting the learning and accessing a range of applications when and if they are needed. Diggers Rest Primary School subscribes to Reading Eggs and Mathletics for all students.

An industrious Parents & Friends Association supported by a visionary School Council have ensured that outstanding resources and facilities support the excellent educational programs at the school.
